For whom is this review?
- You need a small hard drive you can carry around
- … in color
- You need a lot of storage space and have a little space in your suitcase
- You hate cables
- You travel a lot with your new 10 Megapixel camera which has only 4GB memory card, and you have a heavy finger on that trigger
Several times I have realized that I couldn’t function without it. It is true that I haven’t used it for a month now and got surprised when I found it in my ultrasmall Samsonite handbag that has just enough space for wallet, Nokia N73, Casio S500… it was there the whole time and I haven’t noticed! At this moment I have 3 external hard drives conected to my laptop and if I would need to transfer some data I would probably: 1. copy the files on the wrong drive, 2. forget some cable, 3. take the power supply for the wrong drive
This small giant has 120GB of space but it is available also in size of 320GB. It is available in 11 different colors but I decided to go with the black as my handbag is. What I like very much that no extra power supply is needed like the other hard drives I have! It takes power directly from the USB port. The cable is only 10cm long and can fit in the pocket with the drive. You can use it with Win2000, XP, Vista, and Mac (but my clients with macs will just have to find a windows computer in my case because macs tend to corrupt windows files on external hard drives in general)
The size is 12.6cm x 8cm x 1.5cm and weights two Milka chocolates (one is unwrapped and misses 2 ribs)
Problems: If you have a desktop PC with a weak power supply you might have problem of supplying the drive with enough power. In this case you have to order an extra cable with connection to 2USB ports.
Definitely A must have!
